What makes up a Speech Application?
When you design a Speech Application you are designing the framework of a phone call. You want
the caller to be able to verbally explain the reason for their call and then successfully direct
your callers to the information they need as quickly as possible. In order to do so, you will have
to present prompts, listen to the callers response and then send the caller to the next step, which
could be another prompt, a transfer to a live operator, or an answer to their question.
To this end, a Speech Application is primarily made up of two components: Modules and Actions. Modules
are the actual elements of your system- the major sections of your call design. Actions take place
within modules and are, essentially, what the system does.
